5 NPCs Who Totally Outshined the Main Characters
5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs. 5 of our favorite NPCs.
Ok, you get the picture.
NPCs have some quirks that we love, like repeating lines over and over. But when it comes to picking our favorites, it's like picking our favorite brand of bologna, next to impossible. But we pulled together some that stand out, at least until a new one comes. At least until a new one comes. At least until a new one comes. Ok, we beat this joke to death. Here's a shoutout to the five scene-stealers who left us more impressed than a cat watching a laser show.
1. GLaDOS ("Portal"):
Picture the sassiest AI in existence, armed with a doctorate in passive-aggression. GLaDOS, from "Portal," turns a seemingly simple puzzle game into an epic tale of wit, sarcasm, and, let's face it, a bit of existential dread. Her ability to make you laugh and despair simultaneously is nothing short of a programming miracle. She’s like that one friend who's always sarcastic but you still want to have their babies.
2. Sadie Adler ("Red Dead Redemption 2"): From heartbreak to gun-slinging badassery, Sadie's not just a character in a story – she IS the story. She’s got more layers than an onion in a winter jacket, evolving from a tragic figure into a force to be reckoned with. She's the embodiment of the Wild West spirit – tough, relentless, and as fierce as a tornado in a Texas summer.
3. The Merchant ("Resident Evil 4"): Creeping out of the shadows with the charm of a mysterious stranger, The Merchant is the guy you'd want to meet in a zombie apocalypse. Sure, he's a bit weird, but aren't all salesmen? Ever buy a car? He's the ray of creepy moonlight in the dark, zombie-infested world of "Resident Evil 4," offering you goodies from the depths of his trench coat. No judgment, no questions – just good old-fashioned capitalist spirit in the middle of chaos.
4. Emiel Regis ("The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt"): Think of the coolest vampire you know. Now multiply that coolness by about a hundred. That’s Regis. This centuries-old vampire is more than just a knowledgeable ally; he's the epitome of undead sophistication. He’s the kind of vampire who wouldn’t just save your life – he’d do it with style, then engage you in a philosophical debate over a glass of... well, you know.
5. Therese Voerman ("Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines"):
Therese is the NPC with a plot twist for a personality. Businesswoman by day, dark secret-keeper by night, she's like a character straight out of a gothic novel – if that novel was set in modern-day and had a killer sense of business acumen. She’s proof that in the world of gaming, vampires can be more than just bloodsuckers – they can be corporate moguls too.
These five NPCs are the unsung heroes of gaming, turning side quests into main events and backstories into blockbusters. Now, tell us, who are your favorite NPC scene-stealers that deserve a standing ovation?
